No more lifting my foot off the peg to use the rear brake!

I like rearsets on sport bikes but not on the Duke due to the upright riding position plus I wanted to retain rubber foot pegs to isolate motor vibrations so my only option was to modify the brake & shift pedals...

I bought these aftermarket pedals because they don't bend out like the OEM pedals (important for using the eccentric toe peg mount listed below) and the toe peg's removeable:

I stripped the orange anodizing that would fade in a couple months with EZ Off oven cleaner, pressed out the bearings, powdercoated them black, and drilled a 3/32" locating hole for these eccentric toe peg mounts:

A trip to Ace Hardware for (2) stainless steel socket cap screws & (2) flat socket cap screws and my project comes in under $75 total. The brake pedal location is now perfect for me and the shift rod doesn't have so many threads exposed so I don't have to worry about the rod-ends breaking off.

***Bonus Mod***

I installed this short shift kit and it really tightens up the shifter W/O a noticeable increase in effort and it's still easy to locate neutral:

Brett - I run a short shift kit in my car and really like it. First time I've seen something like this for the Duke/RC.

Are you still happy with it? Worth the expense?

I'm not sure if it's due to the first oil change, but found recently that upshifts, eg from 3-4, weren't happening as positively anymore. I'd let out clutch, and still be in 3rd. Coming from the Buell which had a clunky gearbox, I'm not happy for this to start happening on the Duke.

Wondering if something like this SS kit would help?

Thanks - did you install both at the same time, or separately - wondering impact of each individually... I still need to play with placement of shift lever and see if it's not just my shift habits. I'll also probably avoid opening up case while under warranty I think. But that detent arm does seem to have good reviews and perhaps is the more critical piece of the equation.
