Coolant level low

After only 300 miles from new, the coolant level on my Duke 390 has dropped right to the bottom of the reservoir tank.
I did find that the reservoir cap was loose, hopefully it was just that and not a faulty engine on a brand new bike.

I have filled it up to the level and will monitor it.
I have to admit it’s the first time l have looked at it....so may have been like that when l collected it.
But the cap wasn’t tight. In a car that will mean you lose coolant.

Keep checking it. If you keep seeing drop and no obvious leakage it might be a sign of a damaged head gasket

Top it up, and observe for a few days. Chances are that the coolant level sometimes are low from the factory itself. There have been many instances where after one a few hundred kms the reservoir reading goes low. Topping it up solves the issue. Do keep a tab on your engine oil level and color.

Cheers!

Thank you.

I have topped it up and the level has not dropped again yet.
The oil looks fine as does the coolant colour.

Coolant level has remained level. Must have been the loose filler cap?
Or not filled up when l got it.

Mine was loose and had a little leak so maybe that was the case for you. Glad it's was not something more serious! Keep checking oil and coolant level as often as you remember before riding. That's the best maintenance check that every rider must do before riding the bike.
