Big crack in airbox

So I've been having some problems with the bike being hard to start when cold and stalling out etc. Ktm found no fault codes etc so bought and fitted a boosterplug and changed the spark plug while I was there. After a test today I found this big crack in the airbox has this ever happened to anyone else?

I have a BP fitted and have never seen this. You think it happened during the fitment?

Does this issue also apply to the post 2017 Duke 390?

Different airbox on the gen 2 bikes. Doesn’t answer the question though.

2017 have a different airbox design IIRC. The 2015 airboxes were suckers. The airbox lid bolt holders would crack if torqued even a wee bit higher and the plumbing was a weak spot right from the beginning. JB weld is your best option. Remove the airbox, make sure JB weld is applied on all the outside creases and let it dry, provides effective lock-stop solution. You can touch it up with some black paint to give it a clean finish.

I have a 16 and I've already had two air boxes break.... This last time while I had the tank off I pulled the air box and JB welded it all back together lol.
