That's very good! So we can expect a brand new <500cc Duke in 2017!
500 c.c.would not have to work so hard. (Besides- it would be more 'traditional'.
Imagine eating a Manx Norton or a BSA Goldie for breakfast! Haw!
I am not knocking that 125 Duke: I don't know how to post links, but there is a very good video on youtube called Goodbye KTM 125 Duke. The 125 goes to sleep at 2:31. The music soundtrack was done by some guy named e-dubble.
Somewhat surprised that they want to kill off the 125 . In Europe the 125cc has a lot of market share as it allows it to be driven with a B ( passenger car ) driving licence . That market is dominated by the scooter segment but I see much more 125 Duke's around here than the 390 . Price difference is certainly not the main reason , even less so in the second hand market .
Question: If I do not register or plate my 2015 Duke- how much would I get for it on a trade in?
(Probably not as much- as the still in the crate Vincent Black Shadow- that I looked at in Ottawa, Ont.- back in 1970. (Some guy told me about a guy he knew, who had a Black Shadow- still in the crate.)
Yeah-sure! Haha- you putting me on!
"No- it's true! I give you the guy's phone number- you call him!"
So I did:
Some guy tells me that you have a Vincent- still in the crate?
"Yeah- wanna come see it- here is my address."
So- I rode there- on my '69 Bonny- with the Paul Dunstall 750 hopup kit on it,
He took me into his basement- and there it was: A brand new Vinnie- still in the crate!?! (He had removed the end of the crate so one could see it- but it was still strapped in!) Holy ****!
He had another bike in that basement, (sitting on it's centerstand, out in the open. (This one, was an Indian 'Scout- all original !?!
"You wanna hear it?" He jumped on the kicker and fired it up!
He had a lathe in his basement- too. (This thing was about 30 feet long.)
I asked: How did you get this lathe down here?
He replied: "I had the basement poured- then I dropped it in with a crane, before the house was built."
Haha- that is what I like about hard-core bikers: You are all nutjobs!
(That's why I am still doing it.)
They could keep the bikes as long as they got rid of the worst instrument/speedo/non-tac ever! That rotten thing is worse than worthless. Whoever approved that thing should be taken behind the wood shed.
