Exhaust Wrap

Has anyone wrapped their header pipe ?

Was thinking it could reduce the heat felt on my left leg when riding in slow moving traffic.....

Its not worth it if you ride in wet weather, the wrap would speed up rust big time. There’s also issues with cracking due to heat cycles.

Wear proper riding pants and it won’t be so bad

Not noticed any heat on my legs.

But then again l live in the U.K. where it’s more likely to be water hitting my legs while riding, than heat from the engine

I guess it would make no noticeable difference. On those conditions the heat comes mainly from the radiator, when the fan comes ON, since it pulls air directly towards our legs.

I have noticed since updating ecu at the dealer, it does not kick as much as before.
Most of the time when driving from the road to my house, fan will always kick before shutting down.

I wrapped mine from day one, but I live in San Diego. I wasn't really concerned about my leg as I was more concerned about heat on the surrounding parts.
