There it is. I wonder when it’s coming to the US? Some say June 2023 or beginning of next year. The CEO already said in an interview with motorcycle.com new frames, new engines for 2024 model year. Now is a question is when are 2024 model years released. Any thoughts?

Kawasaki CARB certified a 450cc twin for their retro style Eliminator. Sounds like Z450/Ninja450 and Versys 450 could be in the pipeline. Time for KTM to rethink the 490?

New duke is getting a bigger engine so i would say they're closing the gap
Duke 490 was gonna twin 490cc around 60 hp.
since duke 690 isnt on product line, riders have to buy vitpilen 701.still i d like to have a duke more powerful than 390 but less powerful than duke 890.
There should be a duke between 390 and 890 yes?
ktm is investing in 890 smt that will be around 100hp

Hmmmm ... KTM killed the 490 project.

2 things i liked, red plastic under the rider seat and frint sprocket cover :D:D
I tend to look at it this way:

after 6 years on the last production, they could either spend all the new money redoing/replacing yesterdays investment castings...

or they could prevent the public from crying/claiming they're standing still and just tell the 5-axes to cut it different this time, using the new old money.

Engineers get bored too, so there's that.

I'm keeping my 2019. I just ordered Marchesini wheels last month for gods sake. 😂

Who wants to bet on whether the gas tank is now in the back... and the former gas tank is now a high airbox?
Ram air would definetly be good and benefit the engine
Looks like they now went the route of no more skid guard to protect the exhaust pipe. The engine is now exposed. I guess they considered it really isnt needed anymore.
Perhaps with this new I can take off my skid guard and run it bare hehe

The exhaust pipe from the engine looks cheap. At least they could have ceramic coated it.

Id still rather get the 2023 model or slightly older since there are more parts in abundance that are interchangable.
Looks to me there are mounting points for the under guard.

I was wondering since a long time how will look the future design line of (let`s be honest) all dukes and if they will destrony our mythic look: it`s okay! head lamp is less sharp but as always we`re gonna used to that. I feel satisfied with this new design and impatient to see all the incoming models year by year..

I do wonder if that's the finished products because having that cheap exhaust exposed really looks horrible. The bs4 was the best gen where if you were to ride without the guard then you wouldn't have the exhaust directly under the engine since it wrapped above the engine. Really questionable why they decided to go this route for the new design. I'm not a fan of it.
Still gonna be a 390. Yup .. I'll keep my 2022
Is that even the same enginge?
no, it's not. entirely new castings/foundation.

slimmed down; oil filter on the left side(?); drain plug on the bottom; etc etc etc... total redesign. Look at how close the castings straddle the balancer, and how they completely trimmed down the stator and crank sensor housing.

Pre and post-cat O2 sensors, so it has to be a new gen controller now...

the list just keeps running on...
