OK I traded a 2020 390 Duke to a 2022 390 Adventure - i prefer the riding style of the Adventure
My other bike is a 990 SMT that i use for sports touring - and in the back of my mind i have thought for the 390 Adventure i would maybe like is as a mini SMT
So I am thinking is the wheel swap from a Duke 390 to Adventure 390 an easy concept - gives wider and more tyre choice
The off road is limited to dirt roads / forestry same as on the 990 today with majority on road and country roads

It should sharpen the steering up with smaller front wheel as well - thoughts ? comments ?

The only thing to be careful of - if they are a straight fit / swap; is the fact the 'road' wheels are cast Aluminium for weight saving. And most off-road wheels are spoked for strength.

Putting cast road wheels on an "off-road" bike MIGHT not be the best idea ever. Although i think many here have done so / used like you have for some gentle fire-track type riding with no issue. **Just that with a spoked wheel; its able to be straightened / repairable. With a cast wheel the body will crack / break and that's that......

I am wary of the Duke wheels being more fragile - i have bent the rear rim on the 990
what I have in mind is a more motard style bike - steepen the steering slightly and wider wheels to push it around on the tight mountains. its just an idea i have - as i say i traded a duke 390 for the 390 ADV - the duke was too much over the front style to be comfortable for me

OK Swap Complete - it is a plug n play so to say - only issue is when you fit the duke front mudguard the inner fork protector has a slightly different shape so needs a slight mod
The Duke 390 doesn't have these for protectors

Hey man, looks good. Any close up shots of the fork protector and what you did to it?

Also, if I'm not wrong, the speedometer tracks the abs sensor. Is the speedometer displaying the correct speed?

ABS Ring is from the Duke - speedo reads correct - but will recheck with GPS - let me find a picture of the fork protector - it has a slightly different pre form on the moulding that needs triming - i used a dremel - its a small mod or the front guard rubs on the upper forks
