Hey all, I replied to an old thread where @blue_man92 said he had increased fuel consumption after 17000km but I it went cold so I thought I might start a new thread.

Basically I did my 15000km service myself, I'm pretty confident everything it as it should be, valves adjusted to spec, everything torqued down etc. I was on a ride home form holiday and halfway through the ride after I stopped and started again my fuel consumption went up by a 0.7 to 1liter approx. The bike also recently developed a weird vibration/rattle at around 3000RPM.
Except this and the consumption everything is okay.

Any ideas how to solve this? Maybe open the valve cover and check if it's all good?

Or at least if @blue_man92 has info how it turned out in the end

I don't think there is anything unduly with the motorcycle. If the valve clearance procedure is carried to nick it shouldn't affect the fuel consumption per se. Vibrations at low end are a given, if you hear/feel excessive rattle after valve clerance job, make sure your panels, fuel tank bolts and the periphery, bolts and nuts torqued in well.
