Stock horn is under fuel tank, it is easy to replace it, I did it within 5mins, for your information

Yes horn is located under fuel tank just behind radiator (see pic showing blue circle). As you can see I've replaced mine with a better horn, but had to mount in a new location due to space (original horn still attached, but a lot smaller with less kick).

How's that PIAA working for you?

 

Good - now that I've rewired and solder the extended wires. Should have just created a couple of extension wires rather than cutting the original. Much louder and a better sound than the original. Haven't need to use it that much but it does get their attention when I've had to use it.

 

CEO, Thank you for the helpful photo. I like that PIAA horn you've mounted! Here's what I'm planning:
I have just installed a set of SWMotec crashbars (very discreet, solid and configured to protect the radiator well, as Mariner noted). I intend to use these bars as a mounting point for a pair of Hella Supertone horns - high and low tone. Together, they have an absolutely hellacious, grating and penetrating audio blast - impossible for drivers to ignore. I don't use my horns a great deal, but when you need them, you need them to be attention-getting. These fit the bill. A pair of Supertones draws too much current to simply plug into the stock horn's power lines - certainly they would blow a fuse immediately. I will feed them through a relay attached directly to the battery and triggered by the stock power wires. I need to lay up some carbon fiber brackets to mount the Supertones within the framework of the SW Bars. For the moment I will leave the OEM beeper in place - perhaps permanently - but the Hellas will be my real horns.

The fact that the 390 has to be partially disassembled simply to access the horn illustrates an interesting characteristic of the 390. By ingeniously shoehorning a 390 engine into a frame originally designed for a 125, KTM's engineers have created a masterpiece of dense packaging. Almost nothing is readily accessible: everything, including battery, ECU, fuel tank, radiator and fan, ABS unit and servo, cables, connectors, FI throttle body, horn, etc, etc, is crammed into a seriously limited space. As a result, to get to anything for adjustment, maintenance, replacement or repair, it's a bit as if one is unpeeling an onion. Layers, likely multiple, have to come off before you can reach the component in question. This is the flip side of KTM's "dense pack". But for a bike this light and compact, I'll take it. Maintenance/repair/modification is just more labor-intensive than were it on a less densely packed chassis with easier component access. In life, nearly everything is a trade-off. Great bike, bit of a pain to fettle.

Well gentleman. It's 2020 and I've bought the 2014 duke (my second one after a driver opened a door on me)

you are probably better off finding a new location for a horn

 

Not many of those on the 390 Duke! Not without having an ugly horn in full view anyway.

 

Under the fuel tank and near the upper quadrant of the radiator. Whatever you do, make sure, you Loctite for the horn mount nuts and bolts. I've known many a bikes here loosening the nuts and horns dangling along the freeway.

Hmmmm, I guess I should look at mine... my horn doesn't even work lol. It's been that way for a year now.

 

Upgraded the stock 82mm to 90mm horn.
I had 90mm high and low tone horns from my car lying around after i upgraded my car horn. Turns out the 90mm is a direct fit in the stock horn position. I fitted the high tone 90mm. Satisfied with the result.
