So QLD just (as of today) dropped the requirement for a mod-plate to be fitted for single seat conversions, making it pretty easy to get bikes registered as single-seaters. There is no technical inspection except potentially the clerk at TMR having a look to make sure there's no foot pegs and rear seat (no drilling of the threads and such nonsense).

Advantage: third-party insurance (part of rego) goes from $270 to $85 per year. That nicely covers the price of the KTM solo seat conversion kit...

Think I'll have to put an order in!
