This break in period is killing me!

Greetings,
Loving the new Duke 390. Looking to modify it to handle some light logging roads. I've got the engine guards on order, but I'm having trouble locating some 70/30 tires that fit. Any help? Also, any suggestions to locate skid plates/paniers - seen some things for 2016 models, but not 2017.
Regards,
Skubs

I'm also just around 200km mark, I need to do a serious stretch in following days. Can you share what changes exactly after first service? I know that the rpm limit is off, but what's the difference in riding experience?
I'm also itchy for that first service because of Akrapovic slip-on, I just can't wait for the new sound.

No changes other than the rpm limit, but I had the v41 software uploaded before due to tft problems.
But "just rpm limit" is o much more than "just rpm limit", when you finally go above the bike becomes alive. The fun and magic of the Duke live above 6500rmp, it's a corner rocket now and I love it.
I had no problems keeping up with a Honda 650 on a twisty road and the CB650 has twice the HP of the Duke

I have modified the original exhaust so it sounds a lot better but I can only image how much better the akra will be :)

yupp, and it's worth the wait :)
actually the break in period, although a pain in the butt, is a good way to get to know your bike and become familiar with the cornering and breaking characteristics, without pushing it to the limit
so consider it a break in period for you and the bike as "team", as cheesy as this may sound ;)
and when you finally open it up full throttle you will be more confidant in what it can and can't do
if it sounds like I'm trying my best to put a positive spin on the boring first 600 miles, it's because it's true.. but it doesn't mean that I'm wrong.. ;)
