I needed to buy a stand for my 390 ADV. Purchased the Venom front and rear stand with spool attachment. The rear works fine. However the front will not lift the bike off the ground. The c/l of the lifting point is appox 13". The c/l of the front axel is about 13.25". So learn from my mistake and get some details about items before you buy. I've ordered the triple tree attachment (with the correct size pin) hopefully that will work. What is everyone else using? That's the question I should have posted on this forum first.

Personally, I really like the pin design that inserts to the base of the triple tree; i use the KTM unit, it is also adjustable for height, because it services several of their bikes.
The reason i went this way is because i can flip the steering side to side and do every job i encounter on the front of the bike.

On the rear, I use the KTM unit that lifts by the spools.

Good stuff, haven't been disappointed, very stable with both ends off the ground. (y)

I got the Venom Triple Tree attachment for my stand. Once again it didn't lift the bike up off the ground. The arms on the base unit are too short for the adventure model. So I just got a couple of 2x6 inch planks to lay them underneath the stand and that lifts the wheel up off the ground fine. 18 mm pin for the Triple Tree insert.

I've just now tested the floor jack at the center under the engine while the back was on the swingarm rear spool stand and it was very unstable.

The venom seems like a great option at this point for the 390 duke considering the price compared. Although the following seems to be an improvement
over the venom stand. It has a more sturdier support design at the nose. It has much better wheels and you get 1 more pin. The pin ranges a bit more
broad than the venom where it is gradual in size steps. Only $12 more than the Venom.

Just an update. I have purchased the Moto4u lift and it is very high quality. I did cut sheets of foam to wrap around the sections that touch the paint. I then wrapped duct tape around the foam so these sections do not mar the paint. I highly recommend this stand.

All of the front tree stands are bare metal that touch the paint as in the painted front fender. Even the KTM model is bare metal with no protection. I am just taking the extra precaution so there is no possibility for the metal to touch the paint. Personal choice.

The video has its place but it should be clear that the aftermarket stands have their place. This is a duke 390 forum so considering it's wet weight then that should be a factor to justify these stands. I personally have the harbor freight stand and when I use it held by the rear spools then it is perfectly fine for this bike. I even sat on the bike multiple times while it's on the stand and I'm 160lbs. I've even sat on the bike while it was held up at the front with the Moto4u stand and the HF stand and it's still fine. This is about the same difference as using a 1.5ton floor jack for lighter cars compared to a 4ton for heavier cars. You clearly wouldn't want to use the 1.5ton floor jack to lift a 4k lbs luxury sedan. If I had a heavier bike then I would not use these stands.

Does this stand lift the front off the ground w/out additional boards underneath? I see both this and the Venom at Amazon. Wondering if the venom would work on the Duke given it has 17" front wheel versus the ADV 19" ? I also have a Cycle Gear store about 20 miles away. I might check out theirs too..

A piece of 2x Lumber is actually one and a half inches thick. I use that under the Venom stand and it lifts the front of my adventure bike perfectly. A bike with a 17 inch front wheel would probably just on the very edge of working without a piece of lumber.
