Share what you did today with the Duke 390 / RC 390 community!

Example: Just received my new sprockets and DID chain from the postman, going to put in some wrench time today!

Example: Gave her a nice bath today and a fresh coat of wax. :D

Example: Took the 390 in to service... Hopefully, my bill won't crater my pocket.

Anything goes....

Well Pete, I heard you were out admiring your shiny rims, so I took mine out and got some brake dust on them. Invited Mr Duke out for lunch with a couple of riding buds. Payson to Flagstaff, from 5000 ft to 7200 ft and 190 miles of twisty two lane mountain roads. The BB,Q was great and Mr Duke did not disappoint. Hope you and your Yam 3 had an equally good time.

That sounds like a very nice ride JP !! Betcha dusted up the rims a bit up in the hills, ya ? I think I'm ready to take IL Duce up Mt. Washington in New Hampshire now that it's been 'groomed" at the dealer's last weekend. Not as big a hill as your's but high enough.
The Triple since the ECU re-flash rides like a totally different bike, should have been like this from Day 1. Try one sometime ; )

That 9 is a cracking tool. I ride with several guys that have them. Ridden prior and after flash.
Wouldn't trade my 8 on one though ;)

Installed sw motech crash bars and Acerbis vision handgaurds.

The crash bars were straight forward but I had to drill out the bar end plugs which took a while. I used the auxiliary wires for power and ground. I'll get some more pics up showing what it looks like at night.

Peace!

Nice work :) First thing I did after fitting my SW crash bars was to pull the horrible, ill-fitting stickers off.

I looked at the 390 and took my Ducati to breakfast today...just wanted to get used to 100 hp again. Was inspired by yesterday's online streaming coverage of the AMA Pro Motocross races at Red Bud, Michigan.

Unfortunately the lead KTM rider, Brian Dungey, ended up second on the day. He still has a big points lead, though.

Installed Powerparts seats. 100% improvement, both visually and comfort. It was pretty comfortable anyway, this has transformed it.
We did some 2 up riding this weekend and I was pleasantly surprised how well it handled 2 of us. Still peppy enough and quite chuckable.
I did crank the rear shock up 2 notches (now I figured out how to without scratching the frame)

Added the MNNTHBX air filter cover and a K&N filter. Pretty happy with this upgrade and can definitely say that MNNTHBX's quality is top notch (super quick shipping too!). Sounds a whole lot better than stock, debatable whether it add any power.

I also bought the Renthal grips they have on the KTM page. They are better than stock, but the stock throttle has these notches on it that the grips don't really fit over, so it looks kind of ugly... Probably will have to upgrade to the throttle they offer to ditch the stock one.

Have you done this filter cover without a re-map or fuel commander of some sort?

Fitted powertronic today

I ordered the unit last monday evening . It had to go through customs and was available for pick-up yesterday .
Fitted today and I must say : it works ! Makes the bike smoother AND faster .
Next on the list is trying to make a Laser produro exhaust fit ( and maybe the DNA filter )

Well..
Today I added spindle/sliders for the rear, couldn't find any I liked for the 390 so ordered them for the 690 and bought new bolts, looks like both bikes are 10mm just thread pitch is different. Also added new grips which really look good I was worried it would be to much KTM and orange but I like it, then I added new rear brake resivoir and billet cap.

Hi Guys,

Changed my bars today.

I have been getting sore thumbs after riding for a while & found that rotating my wrists so my hands rotated inward seemed to help, so the search was on for some bars with less sweep but the same height & rise. Found these bars on eBay Australia, and also needed these risers to suit because the std. Duke risers are only Ø26.

Once I had my old bars off I could compare the two, and the photo below shows the difference... about 35mm reduction in sweep. I took my time & it took about 3-1/2 hours to do the swap, which involved cutting the bars to length & drilling the switch block alignment holes.

Overall I'm pleased I made the change. I was worried the orange bars & risers would look a bit wanky but they are growing on me, but the more important thing was to see if the hand soreness has improved, which it seems to have done. I could only get a quick test ride in but it does feel better.
