DB Killer removal on Remus exhaust?

Hey, anyone running the Remus on their Duke? I just installed it yesterday, got it fired up and let me tell you, it’s loud! I wanted to see just how much louder it would be with the DB killer removed as well as how the sound changed. If it’s gonna be loud as it is, then might as well be loader anyway. Small problem though, I can’t get the darn thing out of there. I removed the Allen head screw holding it, put some needle nose pliers on it and after some cussing and tugging it still wouldn’t budge. Maybe the heat from the earlier start up and check caused expansion? Anyone else experienced this? The current sound is ok, just kinda “poppy” sounding. The online clips that are out there make the exhaust sound better with the dB killer out. I was a bit concerned about laws regarding noise levels but when I went looking online I did not see any noise restrictions for Texas. Besides, the guys on Harley’s with their custom exhausts are far and away much louder than my bike could ever be and they get away with it. My neighbors might not like me too much though!

Yeah apparently so. I’m gonna have another go at it this weekend, probably in the morning or late evening when it’s a bit cooler and I’ve not been riding the bike causing heat and thus expansion of the metallic bits.

I take it you are running the same muffler and midpipe as me? Any other mods you’ve done? I ordered a booster plug to hopefully richen up the air/fuel ratio a bit to help smooth out the surging at lower rpm/speeds. Too bad I never got it though, DHL lost it during shipping somewhere between Texas and Denmark and are “investigating” it. If they don’t come through then I may look into one of the easy bike evo’s or a PCV.

Try a broom handle up the inlet end . with broom handle inserted up to the db killer a sharp bash on the ground ( or two ) should see it come out . Had the same problem with my Arrows GP Gun . Happy also with my Rapid Bike EVO Exclusive easy to fit though could have done with smaller hands at least skin is self repairing .
